Fish Yu Biography
Fish Yu is a composer from Hong Kong, currently pursuing his Doctoral degree in Music Composition at the University of Toronto. He completed his Master’s degree in Music Technology & Digital Media with a full scholarship supported by The Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme. Yu’s work—’Please Don’t Open’ for Trombone and Electronics—was nominated to the 67th International Rostrum of Composers (IRC) in 2021 and chosen as Recommended Works by Composers Under 30 Category. His other work—’Torrent’ for Flute and Electronics—received the third prize in The Young Composers Competition of Isidora Žebeljan International Festival 2021 and was presented at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) 2023. Yu is passionate about creating music that blends both acoustic and electronic sounds. In 2023, he served as the composer and producer for his first Dolby Atmos album project titled “The Sounds of Cities.” https://soundsofcities.art/
